Atlas Copco started its sales activities in China as early as 1920s, initially via import from Europe. In 1959, the first Atlas Copco company was established in Taiwan. The five business areas of Atlas Copco Group —namely, Compressor Technique, Vacuum Technique, Industrial Technique, Mining and Rock Excavation Technique and Construction Technique—have begun operations in China by sellingair and gas compressors, portable compressors, generators, mining and rock excavation equipment, construction tools, pneumatic and electric power tools, and assembly systems through a global network with a strong brａnd portfolio operation. All of these are backed up by a nationwide sales, distribution, service and maintenance network. By the end of 2016, Atlas Copco China employed over 6100 employees and operated 200 regional branch offices in China. As one of the most important markets to the Group, Atlas Copco China will further develop its market and expａnd the presence in China, through innovative industrial solutions with increasing sustainable productivity to the Chinese customers.
